1992 KLEIN PERFORMANCE "Custom"

Story of the bike

I showed this bike to my wife on ebay and she was like: I want that bike, I'll just sell my carbon road bike!

The paint is original and looks totally awesome.

Knowing that she would be shocked riding a 1992 Klein with down tube shifters, I had to melt together the old frame set with modern technology. There were quite a few problems to solve to adapt the new parts to this frame.

The BB was narrowed down to 73mm and a specific, narrower BB from Reset is used, derailleur hanger modified for modern derailleur, downtube shifter replaced with modified adapters, stem convertion from quill to ahead.

The bike rides fantastic and is super comfortable, thanks to the long chainstays.

Thank you:

Mark Mc Kenney for the tool and help cutting down the bb, Bill Laddish @Bianchi USA for the Ultegra group, Gregor Mraz @Mavic for the wheels, Matt LaPrade @SRAM for the Zipp parts, Specialized Bicycles for the saddle, Castro Valley Cyclery for the stem converter and SUPACAZ for the bar tape! ..oh and Steve Blick for the original Oakley decals!

So, this is my gift to my lovely wife Casandra for our 10th anniversary - enjoy!
